Do I need to be invited or can anyone join?
Anyone can create an account. To join a specific group or ladder league, you request access and the group organizer approves you.
What formats does Tri-Star Pickleball support?
Tri-Star Pickleball supports ladder leagues with step-based rankings, free play sessions with automatic team rotation, and Round Robin tournaments with seeded playoff brackets.
Can I run my own group?
Yes. Organizers can create groups, configure ladder settings, manage sign-up sheets, and run sessions directly from the platform.
What happens if a session has an odd number of players?
Free Play handles it automatically — it rotates players fairly so everyone gets balanced game time, no matter how many people show up.
Can my club charge membership dues?
Yes. A club admin connects the club's own Stripe account and sets its own dues options, such as monthly or a one-time season pass. The money goes straight to the club, and Tri-Star takes 0% of dues. Clubs that don't charge dues stay free to join.
Can I collect tournament entry fees online?
Yes. Organizers turn on online entry fees per tournament and choose which Stripe account gets paid — their own or a club they run. Players pay when they register, and each doubles partner pays their own entry.
What's the service fee, and who pays it?
Online tournament entries carry a 9% Tri-Star service fee per player. By default players pay it at checkout; organizers can choose to cover it instead. Stripe's standard card processing fee is paid by the organizer. There's no service fee on club dues.
How do refunds work?
Refunds are the organizer's or club's call, issued with one click. A refunded entry returns the full amount, service fee included, and cancelling a tournament refunds every online payment automatically.
